School Group Field Trips at Cool Creek Park - Have you heard?  You Can bring your school group to Cool Creek for a field trip.  Our wooded 100 acre facility offers hiking trails, a native prairie, a greenhouse, and a playground.  We will be glad to tailor parts of your visit to fit your grade's curriculum.  Hamilton County Parks and Recreation provides the equipment needed for hands-on experiences for groups as large as 150 children.  Don't wait! Spots are filling up fast for the winter and spring 2005-2006 school year.

Archaeology Field Trips for Schools at River Road Park - The Hamilton County Parks Department's naturalist staff is now able to conduct field trips at our River Road Park and Strawtown Koteewi Park.  If you are looking for an Archaeology themed school outing, then this park is for you.  River Road Park is located in Carmel on the bank of the White River, has an archaeology themed playground, mastodon bones discovery area, tall-grass prairie, and a Native American exhibit which children of all different age levels will love.  Strawtown Koteewi Park is located about 5 miles north of Noblesville and features and earthen embankment which was once used as a Native American Village and the new Taylor Center of Natural History.  Pre-registration is required.

School Group Costs:  FREE/Hamilton County students/Donations are accepted
$1 per child/Out of county students.

Scout Groups at Cool Creek - Are you looking for a great activity for your scouts this winter or upcoming spring?  Come to Cool Creek Park and experience a hike or an animal talk with a naturalist.  Your group can also participate in a craft.  Whether you are working toward a badge or just looking for a fun scout activity, Cool Creek Park is a great place for you.  Dates fill up fast, so don't wait!  Cost, FREE/ Hamilton County students/Donations accepted; $1 per child/Out of County students.  Pre-registration required by calling Chris McConnell, Naturalist, 317/848-0576.

Adult/Senior Programs at Cool Creek - Gardening clubs, senior citizen organizations, high school science or nature clubs and other adult groups can now consider the Cool Creek Nature Center for their next outing.  Our Naturalist staff is available to conduct themed hikes, lectures and presentations on many nature-related topics.  While you are here, check out our Nature Center, greenhouse and prairie.  These are only a few of the amenities your group can enjoy while at our park.  Naturalists may also be scheduled for outreach programming when available.  To schedule your next group outing or receive additional information concerning them, please call 317/848-0576.  Costs, FREE/Donations are accepted.  Pre-registration required by calling James Cole, Naturalist, 317/848-0576
